Yesterday I dedicated my Design Centre column in Metro News Canada to some fun accessories to build a coffee and tea station at home. As the weather gets colder, I find myself craving more lattes and Americano-style coffees during the day and refreshing herbal teas at night. Although my dream would be to own a Euro-style cafe one day (with my imaginary employee “Franco” at the espresso-helm each day- see below), I’ll settle with setting up a few online accessories to serve myself and friends. If you missed yesterday’s column; here are a few of the fun things featured.
Netflix or a book… and this little tray of relaxation. Time For Tea Set, $25
Custom grind your coffee beans whether they be fine grind for espresso or rough-chopped for cold brews. Custom Grind Coffee Grinder, $35
Hotel style, all brass quality for a lifetime of serving hot bevvies, Alfi Thermal Carafe, $200
A new way to press out the best flavour from your espressos. AeroPress Coffee & Espresso Brewer, $35
Classic style seems cool again! This is the teapot for a lifetime. STAUB Basil Teapot, $170
On a budget? Brew your own coffee at home and take it to work in a faux (ceramic/silicone) take-out cup. Got leftover coffee? Opt for an iced version the next morning! Lenox Park Thermal Travel Mug, $12, Bed Bath & Beyond
I think red is one of the best accessory colours for a kitchen and the Hamilton Beach Stainless Steel Cordless Kettle fits that bill perfectly. At only $70 for all that style!
This measure spoon ensures the right amount of grinds for your brew and then helps keep the leftover grinds fresh. Coffee Scoop Clip, $6, CB2
