I was lucky enough to purchase this iconic Louis Vuitton travel trunk last year. Dated from the early 1900s, this particular model was manufactured as a Parisian courier’s trunk and found at Michael Thomas Antiques in Hamilton, Ontario. Old ones like this are easily found but rarely do they have the original leather belt. Lucky me – this one does.
Due to the fragile nature of the trunk and its age, I decided to add a glamorous accessory and I had my lovely Louis wrapped in museum-quality acrylic at Marion Collection Acrylic. Custom-made, the acrylic wrap with open ends was about half the cost of the trunk – an investment worth every penny! Now I feel comfortable using my trunk as a centerpiece in the living room, knowing that martini glasses are not going to spill or stain. Cheers!
